Each year the Waco Pride Network hosts the Out on Brazos festival to celebrate Waco’s LGBTQ community and its allies. The festival features musical performances, food trucks, vendors and community. The festival takes place in October of each year to commemorate national coming out day (also it's HOT in Waco in June).
In 2017, the Out on the Brazos Planning Committee came together to relaunch Waco Pride after ten years of dormancy. What began as a picnic grew to an event that hosted between two hundred and four hundred people in Cameron Park and received substantial local coverage. In 2018, the Waco Pride network was officially organized and launched as a non-profit to host the Out on the Brazos event. It is intended to be a yearly celebration.
